Garuda

Garuda, known as Garuḍa in Sanskrit and Garuḷa in Pali, is a revered deity in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Mainly depicted as the mount (vahana) of Vishnu, he's also the half-brother of various divine beings like Devas, Gandharvas, Daityas, Danavas, Nāgas, Vanara, and Yakshas. Born to the sage Kashyapa and Vinata, he's the younger brother of Aruna, the Sun's charioteer. Garuda is hailed as the king of birds, often depicted as a kite-like figure or a giant bird with wings partly open. He's known for his protective nature, swift travel abilities, and enmity towards serpents. Garuda is also referred to as Tarkshya and Vainateya in some texts.
